Students of IIS University have become Sheros in the current Corona war. These girls have come forward to help people struggling with Corona. They are helping patients get bed, ventilator, plasma and oxygen supply on time. They are spreading humanity and happiness in these difficult times.
On one hand there are frontline warriors like nurses and doctors who are risking their lives in doing their duty and at the same time there are many volunteers who are trying to bring cheer on the faces of so many people at their own level every day and are proving every moment that humanity is still alive with their selfless deeds and actions.
“I have rarely felt as helpless as I felt when I found out that I could not donate blood or plasma because I was suffering from diseases such as thyroid and anemia. But I saw people struggling with corona around me and came to know about the importance of plasma therapy, I along with my likeminded friends formed a group on social media and were ready to help people in these difficult times. By God’s grace we were fortunate enough and people joined in and came ahead to help.” This is the story of Isha Juneja, a BJMC sixth semester student studying at IIS Deemed University, who has since then formed a team of 550 volunteers who are helping patients suffering from corona virus.
“I have created three groups on Whattsapp and Instagram which are working at different levels. The first group which has more than 250 members is a Pan India group, while the second group has more than 270 volunteers working for Jaipur and nearby places. The third group includes 30 core members. These members are in different cities and are helping people in getting plasma, oxygen, ventilators, beds, medicines, etc.”
Isha admits that during these difficult times when we are supposed to stay indoors helping people is a real challenge. But social media has come as a real help. She says that they get around 50 to 60 cases a day out of which they are able to help 30-40 people.
She shared the case of a well-known Jaipur-based bike designer who needed a ventilator that was available only in one private hospital in Jaipur. When we failed to provide it, we shared this requirement on Twitter, through which Bollywood actor, Sonu Sood came to know about it and immediately arranged for ventilator bed by talking to the doctor in the hospital”.
This story is not just about one student of IIS but there are many more students who are helping people at their own levels.
BCA student, Sagarika, along with other students of the university is helping the corona patients. “When I came to know that my friend’s uncle’s condition is very serious due to Corona and they are in dire need of plasma but are not able to get it I could understand the helplessness of the families undergoing similar situations and decided to help people around and I formed a group with two friends and today we have 14 members together helping people.” Sagarika told how she helped a 9-year-old child who needed O negative plasma. “The joy that comes from seeing the smile and relief on people’s faces after getting help encourages and motivates us to help more and more people.”
BJMC student Vaibhavi Zariwala along with her family has started the service of delivering food to the families of Covid Patients near her house. Not only this, they have also been providing food to animals such as dogs, monkeys etc. There are many students like Riddhima Jain, Sejal Jain, Vidhi Sharma, Ishita Jhamb, Archie Jain, Kirti Mathur who are helping Covid patients in association with some or the other NGO.
NCC cadet Deeksha Kanwar of the university is distributing food, biscuits etc. in these difficult times to the poor families who have lost their jobs due to corona. “When I saw the poor families living in the slum, I thought of helping them, by providing them with food and other basic neccessities and reduce their suffering for some time.”
These Sheros of IIS University are unknown to the city of Jaipur but their efforts are being applauded by each one associated with the University.
