Dr Sucheta Narwat (Pediatric dentist)
Senior ResidentSMS Hospital, Jaipur
Message: Though this time is immensely difficult for all of us, yet I have learned that if you are emotionally strong and mentally equipped, you can survive this time gracefully. All you have to do is take extra good care of yourself and value the time you have got to spend with your loved ones.
We are a family of 4. I live with my father and 2 younger brothers. We are used to working together with shared responsibilities for a while now and the lockdown has only brought us closer to each other and has made us more aware of our responsibility towards our home and each other.
I am a pediatric dentist by profession so going for work is mandatory for me, and even though I am not in the frontline of this battle, I still feel immensely grateful to be able to provide my share of contribution in the healthcare unit in whatever way possible. So I manage work and home together as I used to do before lockdown plus putting my brothers to work is an added benefit since both of them study through online classes from home now.
Talking about changes in society, I can see people both around the house as well as the patients becoming more aware of hygiene. People are now highly precautious and are strictly following all possible measures to remain sanitized and hygienic along with maintaining social distance as much as possible.
On the personal development front, I have also mastered in cooking like many others which is another feather in my cap of personal achievements plus I am now more involved in practicing yoga and other exercises at home which help me staying focus and healthy which is the ultimate need for all us in this crucial phase.
